Whilst everything in my life is going great and progress is being made, the constant need to maintain the positive outlook actually takes a lot more stamina than I anticipated.
For example, school runs…is there any parent out there that doesn’t wish they can just cut that part of the day out? Arguing with an 8 year old doesn’t get the day off to a great start, plus it leads to a day of guilt about leaving her at school after a row.
So how do we overcome the general day to day negativity the seems to creep up even when you’ve meditated, chanted and begged the universe for peace? One thing I try to do is block out the negative thoughts and thoughts of giving up and running away, by playing my favourite music or listening to one of my favourite shows. It does help, it’s hard to stay in a negative place when your singing along to your favourite artist.
The other coping mechanism I use is sleep! Sleep is so underrated at helping with maintaining that ever stretching positivity stamina. Sometimes you just need to down tools, sleep and recharge your batteries. Everything seems gloomy when you’re running on empty.
If I could go for a nap now I would! However the day needs owning and so music it is. I’m off to sing my heart out and blow out the negativity cobwebs.
If you hear shrieking, don’t panic, it’s just me!!
